Carié Maas has years of experience on the production side of financial publications. She has been production editor of Finansies & Tegniek/Finance Week and deputy editor of the Getaway twin Mooiloop. She also worked for Sake24 (for Beeld and Rapport) for some time.
She has freelanced for various magazines, such as rooi rose and De Kat, and for a while wrote ad hoc columns for Beeld.
She published the highly successful biography Jannie Mouton: And then they fired me in 2011, and in 2013 From Corner Café to the JSE: The Famous Brands story.
She lives in Johannesburg, and works as a freelance journalist and editor.
Maas won the Debut Prize in the NB Publishers Groot Afrikaanse Romanwedstryd 2012 for her novel Koljander.
