Quintus van der Merwe
Quintus van der Merwe was born on February 6, 1957, in Port Elizabeth. He matriculated in 1974 at Andrew Rabie High School in Port Elizabeth. Quintus obtained a BA degree and an HDE at the University of Port Elizabeth. He also obtained a BA honours degree at Stellenbosch University, an MA degree at Unisa and an MA degree in creative writing at the University of Cape Town.
After a period as lecturer in Communications, he joined the South African Department of Foreign Affairs and served as diplomat in among others West Africa and Belgium. He is currently Head of Languages in the Western Cape Provincial Government and lives in the Strand. Quintus made his debut in 2007 with the thriller Die blou van ons hemel.
