Tafelberg Publishers is 60 years old this year. Originally known for its Afrikaans literary fiction, Tafelberg today publishes a wide range of nonfiction and fiction in English and Afrikaans.

Fiction authors like Dalene Matthee, Marita van der Vyver, Marlene van Niekerk, Etienne van Heerden, Eben Venter and Anoeschka von Meck have found a home at Tafelberg.

Our Nonfiction includes current affairs, history, and business with authors like Mamphela Ramphele, Edwin Cameron, Hermann Giliomee, Alf Kumalo, Adriaan Basson, Bill Nasson and Clem Sunter.

The Children and Youth Division publishes youth novels in most of South Africa’s official languages.

Tafelberg publishes Afrikaans Romance Novels under the imprints of Jasmyn, Melodie, Satyn and Hartklop. We are the longstanding publishers of Ena Murray, who is the most-read author in Afrikaans.
